Rock Up! 2008

HEY GUYS!!!!

Have you heard of Rock Up! 2008??

 

No???

 

Rock Up! is a fundraising event aimed to raise funds for Agathians Shelter. The orphanage is currently raising funds for the construction of their new residence and is in need of RM350,000 to complete the construction of their new residence. Thus, this fundraising event will be aiming to raise at least RM100,000 in order for the home to begin construction work.

The details of the charity event:

Date: Friday, May 9, 2008

Time: 12pm – 10pm

Venue : Centre Court, the Curve

Raffle tickets are priced at RM5 each and will be sold before and during the event itself. In line with the event’s tagline “Music to Change”, the event will feature musical and dance performances from the children of Agathians Shelter, Diplomats of Drum, Furniture, Junji Delfino and many others. It will also feature a celebrity fashion show where the clothes worn by the models will be sold in an auction.

Change the lives of the Agathians by involving yourself in this event.

Of Sports Day, Square Dancing and Volunteering

Last Saturday was Bukit Bintang School’s Sports Day! Most of the boys in Agathians Shelter were involved and thus we bundled the rest of them and trooped over to the school field to join in the fun! Needless to say, we cheered and shouted till we were hoarse…

Scenes like this must have brought back a LOT of memories..

It was a pleasant surprise to see the children from Trinity at the field as well. We must have looked a bit mad, waving ecstatically and shouting names..oh well!

The boys at Agathians proved to be a sporty lot when they brought home so many medals. Three cheers for our young heroes!

Stefan and Ayumi couldn’t resist joining in the fun and they signed up for the Parent-Teacher Event.

For Stefan, it was the tug-of-war event..

and he won! WOOHOOO!

Yeap. He is strong!

Sweet Ayumi on the other hand, went round..

and round… and round..

…and though she didn’t win the musical chairs event, but kudos for being such a sport! (on sports day, coincidentally..hehe)

The day didn’t end there though.. we had a square dance session back home.. and now its on YouTube! HaHa!

While on Sunday, several of us volunteered at the Assumption Church, PJ to help Assunta Children’s Society to distribute flyers and collect donations in aid of their new building (as the current one is in pretty bad shape). They are selling bricks, and each costs RM20. Nonetheless, any amount is welcome.

Time Slots: 7.30am, 9.15am, 12pm and 6.45pm (Choose any one slot)

Venue: Assumption Church (right next to Assunta Hospital)

 

Help them distribute flyers and collect donations. Each time slot will not take you more than half an hour. Do let us know if you’re helping out k?

Volunteers Needed!!!

On another note, Assunta Children’s Society would like us to help them in their fund raising event at Assumption Church (next to Assunta Hospital) again. It will be happening this Saturday and Sunday at various times:

Saturday (23rd February) – 6pm 

Sunday (24th February) – 6.30am, 8.30am, 11.30am, 6pm

 
Please msg/mail us if you’re available. What you need to do is just to distribute flyers and to collect donations when the people leave after their mass. It won’t take long for one session, half an hour at most. So do join us if you’re able to yeah??

P.S. : They will also be selling the stones that they painted during our last activity to raise funds.

 

 

Volunteers needed!!

Assunta Children’s Society will be organizing a fund raising event at Assumption Church in PJ (next to Assunta Hospital) this Sunday and they need volunteers to help out from 7.30am to 7pm.
